Celebrating Women in Business | Eliane Selwan

I love being able to celebrate women in business here locally in the Bay Area!

When I put the invitation out for this latest feature, Eliane was one of the first to respond and I am so excited she did. Women do incredible things, no doubt, and sure enough, when I got to know Eliane, I not only saw an accomplished business woman who has faithfully served her clients with the highest level of service and integrity for many years but also a kind and down-to-earth soul who loves and cherishes her family.

Can you share a little bit about yourself? As a REALTOR® dedicated to service and education, I’m passionate about helping clients make confident, informed choices. I’m also a proud mom, grandmother, and dog lover, who believes that family and furry friends are at the heart of what truly makes life meaningful.

What was your career journey like that brought you here to start your business? My career journey began as a software programmer, having earned my bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, and later my M.B.A in Computer Information Systems, while raising my three amazing children. Over the years, I saw that real estate isn’t just about property — it’s about trust, guidance, and service. I then developed a deep desire to help people make confident decisions about where they live and grow.  That realization inspired me to start my own business built on integrity, education, and genuine care for others. I approach my work with heart and purpose — serving clients like family and helping them reach their goals with clarity and confidence.

What or who inspires you and why? My greatest inspirations have always been my mother and grandmother. They were strong, independent women who taught me the importance of hard work, integrity, and service to others. From them, I learned that true success comes not just from achievement, but from how you treat people along the way. Their example instilled in me a deep desire to be entrepreneurial, uphold the highest ethical standards, and lead with professionalism and heart in everything I do.

What inspired you to do the work that you do? What inspires me every day is the opportunity to elevate the real estate profession — one client, one transaction, and one relationship at a time. In an industry that’s often ranked among the least trusted, I’m determined to change that. I believe every interaction is a chance to restore confidence by showing what true professionalism, integrity, and service look like. My goal is to raise the standard by educating clients, leading with honesty, and creating experiences built on trust and service.

Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 18-year-old self? I would tell my 18-year-old self to trust the journey — even the parts that don’t go as planned. Every setback will shape you, and every failure will bring you one step closer to success. Stay true to your values because integrity will always be your greatest compass. Keep learning, stay kind, and don’t be afraid to take bold steps toward independence. The challenges you face will become the foundation of your strength, your confidence, and your purpose.

What do you appreciate most about your life now? What I appreciate most about my life now is the sense of balance and fulfillment it brings. My children are grown, independent, and thriving — they are truly my pride and joy. Seeing them build their own lives gives me so much gratitude and peace. It’s also given me the freedom to focus more deeply on my career and personal growth — to pour my energy into serving others, continuing to learn, and becoming the best version of myself in this new chapter.

What are some unique things that make women stand out and bring something special to the table? As women, we have the remarkable ability to juggle many roles — leader, professional, mother, friend — while staying deeply connected to purpose and people. We bring a unique blend of strength, intuition, and empathy to everything we do. We lead with both heart and intellect, balancing logic with compassion and strategy with understanding.
