50 and Fabulous 2025

50 & Fabulous | Celebrating Kim Artman

“With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God”

-Jenn Johnson

As I type this, the melodious sound of Cece Winan’s rendition of “Goodness of God” makes it’s way joyfully through the the speakers creating what I think is the most appropriate atmosphere for this first post of the new year. New beginnings, reflections and all that. It is one of my favorite songs and I love that I get to listen to it as I also proudly share with you all the newest feature celebrating this amazing woman, Kim.

During our first meeting, she noticed a logo on my shirt during the initial video call I do for all new clients and we soon delightfully realized we shared the same faith. It was a wonderfully refreshing conversation to quickly bond over something so important to both of us. In the conversations that followed in preparation for her photoshoot, I had an opportunity learn more about Kim’s life, her journey with all the ups and downs, and how God has been (and continues to be) her anchor in every single detail of it.

And so as we begin a new year, it is a joy to share with you all today’s highlight of this remarkable human being and woman.

Kim, thank you for so boldly sharing who you authentically are and allowing me to be part of it through the camera. Through working with you, I am reminded for myself how relentless God’s love and goodness is towards us. And without a doubt, I am sure you have been a reflection of His kindness and hope time and time again throughout your life for many others around you. Keep shining.

Can you share a little bit about yourself?

First and foremost, I am a woman of faith, spending daily time with God is of utmost importance to me.

I am a mom to two remarkable, adult children and I firmly believe that being a mom has been the most rewarding role I have ever had. The rewards associated with raising my children are immeasurable and I would not trade it for anything.

I have consistently prioritized giving back to the community throughout my life. I hold the conviction that even the smallest acts of kindness can generate positive ripple effects that extend well beyond our immediate actions. For four years, I served as a co-chair for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's "South Bay Out of the Darkness Community Walk," which was an experience both humbling and fulfilling.

Currently, I am engaged in volunteer work with Silicon Valley Seeds of Hope, an organization devoted to fostering a supportive community for chronically unhoused individuals in Silicon Valley, thereby empowering them to live, work, and thrive together.

Throughout my professional journey, I have gravitated toward service-oriented positions, finding considerable satisfaction in assisting others. I dedicated 16 years to a private Christian school, where I relished the opportunity to form connections with families and provide support to students and teachers. Presently, I am associated with a medical device company, and it fills me with joy to know that our efforts contribute to helping patients alleviate pain and reclaim their quality of life.

Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 18-year-old self?

Always stay close to God! In times of difficulty, keeping your faith at the forefront can truly make a difference. When you allow God to walk with you through life's challenges, you will be better equipped to navigate those tough roads ahead.

Remember, it's absolutely okay to ask for help when you need it. Seeking assistance is not a sign of weakness; rather, it is a strong testament to your willingness to lean on God and those who love and support you.

What do you appreciate most about your life now?

As much as I am not a fan of being “more mature” I am very thankful for the wisdom I have gained over the years. I have also gained an appreciation for the experiences that have shaped me into the woman I am today.

Who did you look up to as a child and why?

I have always looked up to my mom and still do.  She has been an incredible role model for me- strong, supportive and loves her family unconditionally.

What is a surprising fact about you?

I was an extra in a Night Ranger music video with my former roommate.

What makes you laugh?

Anyone with a good sense of humor, a comedy or rom-com and being silly with my girlfriends.

How would you define beauty?

Beauty, as we know, often seems to be associated with appearances, but I firmly believe that true beauty comes from within. While looks can fade over time, the qualities of unconditional love, kindness, and compassion are timeless.

I came across a quote that really resonated with me: "Though my eyes will surely grow dull, I pray they will always hold the beauty of kindness, acceptance, and love." This powerful statement beautifully encapsulates the idea that the beauty of our hearts is what truly defines us.
